On 26th November 2022, a Thai truck driver reportedly drove about 850 kilometres to Ranong in southern Thailand to deliver stuff for his customer. But when he called the client, it was clarified that the delivery’s destination was supposed to be ‘Rayong’ – located over 700KM away from Ranong. As a result, he uploaded an amusing TikTok video asking for encouragement while making his journey to Rayong, according to Sanook.

After the clip went viral, many netizens flocked to leave funny comments as well as encouraging words.

Some even suggested for him to take a rest for few hours before restarting his journey.

Another TikTok user joked about the implications for wasting that much gas to drive to the wrong location – the impact on his wallet.

Translation: LOL I don’t know if I should laugh or cry for you. Anyway, here’s my support for you.

One woman felt amused but also sorry for the driver. However, she expressed support nonetheless, for him to drive safely between the 2 cities.

Effective communication is definitely important

This story is living proof that miscommunication can lead to trouble; just mishearing one word can cause rather unfortunate situations, just like this case. We were really sorry to hear about this guy’s predicament, but we’re glad that he turned it into a funny story instead of a big deal.

Finally, we hope that his boss was kind to him, and that he had enough petrol in the tank to finish the task.

If any of you have a funny story caused by miscommunication similar to this one, feel free to share it with us in the comments.
