Thai house turns into zoo when snake & chicken wander in

Houses are shelters. By shelter, we don’t mean animal shelters. But someone didn’t get the memo when a Thai house was invaded by an unlikely duo – a snake, followed by a chicken.

Here’s the CCTV footage the home owner shared of her hilarious home invasion, and how it went down with netizens.

When there’s trouble, make it double

With the rainy season behind us, Thais like to open our windows and doors to let the cool air into the house. While snakes frequently try to enter homes during the rainy season to get away from the water, it’s much less common to find them in Thai houses in the dry season.

But one snake decided to be a little more eccentric, as it was caught on CCTV footage dated 21st November 2022 slithering into an unsuspecting resident’s house.

The snake would quickly come to regret it as the woman he was intruding upon quickly unleashed her siren-like voice on it. From both reactions, we really can’t be sure who was more afraid of who, in the short TikTok clip uploaded by user @khun_kacha.

After the ruckus, you can see the snake scurrying away, probably praying for dear life. The woman calls the authorities to come handle the snake. But that’s not the end of our story. Because when it rains, it pours.

The unlucky woman got another uninvited guest – in the form of a chicken – literally flapping its way into her house. It appeared to have come from nowhere while she was waiting for the authorities to get rid of the snake.

Now this time, the woman was far less afraid and much more angry when she screamed at the chicken. As the chicken freaks out and rushes offscreen, we can hear the woman continuing to yell profanities at the chicken.

The clip ends shortly after we observe the chicken dashing around the house, so we can only assume what follows is a chase scene straight out of 80s cartoons.

Netizens respond to the impromptu circus act online

Since it’s a story that must be seen to be believed, she posted the CCTV footage of what just transpired online. Netizens enjoyed the absurdity and the interactions between the woman and the wild animals.

But of course, the sheer chance of this happening meant that some commenters also saw this as a sign of the upcoming lottery numbers.

Others had their own guesses as well but some even asked for the lady’s house number, for extra luck.

Translation: I would like to buy your house numbers. They are auspicious.

The kind home owner, who went through the ordeal, was more than happy to share that her house number is 292 – for those invested in this lottery business.

You scream, I scream, we all scream

Despite how afraid we may be of animals that are potentially harmful to us, snakes are also equally afraid of us. In fact, the same reason we try to protect ourselves from them, is the same reason they try to put up defenses against us – to feel safe.

So the next time you find yourself in a situation with animals that you’re afraid of, chances are – they are just as afraid of you. So keep a cool head and figure out the safest way to exit the situation peacefully.
