Here are 7 Muay Thai gyms in Thailand that’ll get you in shape for your new year’s resolution.


1. Bangkok Fight Lab – Muay Thai & MMA

Located a mere 5-minute walk away from BTS On Nut, the Bangkok Fight Lab will give you Muay Thai and so much more.

Their instructors and staff are warm and friendly. Their lessons will give you a clear understanding and appreciation for the sport, while giving you a hell of a workout.

If you’re really interested in diving in as a beginner, they have a fantastic deal for beginners for Muay Thai, Nogi, Boxing, and Brazilian jiu-jitsu that includes equipment for you, a month of unlimited group classes, as well as 2 private sessions. Their beginner packages range from just ฿8,800 to ฿11,200 depending on the discipline.

However, if you’re only hear for a short time, you can also drop-in for one session with a group as well for ฿550.

2. FITFAC Muay Thai – multiple branches with a focus on getting fit

If you’re mostly interested in getting into Muay Thai for the sake of cardio, then FITFAC Muay Thai is a great fit for you, pun intended.

With over ten branches throughout Bangkok, peppered in areas that are easy to access, even I find it hard to come up with an excuse to not go.

This is one of the more modern gyms on this list, as opposed to the more rustic warehouses that really give off that Muay Thai vibe.

Their basic Muay Thai classes are in a small group in 90-minute sessions. Their monthly package costs ฿4,990 and will give you access to as many sessions in that month as you please.

They even have a one-week trial package that costs just a bit over ฿1,000 for people who aren’t sure if this is their thing.

However, if you’re just visiting Thailand, this gym might not find it easy to accommodate you dropping in for just one day.

3. Khongsittha Muay Thai (คงสิทธา) – a Muay Thai resort for that full immersive dive

For those of you who are looking to go on a Muay Thai sabbatical, Khongsittha might just give you everything you’re looking for.

The gym was founded by a pair of friends who couldn’t find the Muay Thai retreat experience they were looking for in Bangkok, so they started their own. They converted an old seafood restaurant into a traditional open-air Muay Thai gym and rooms to stay sleep in. They’ll give you the full Thai hospitality treatment with chefs to provide food as well.

They are beginner-friendly and their packages offer a full retreat experience that’ll have you dive into the Nak Muay lifestyle while enjoying modern conveniences. Their Muay Thai Healthy Holiday Package includes 2 training sessions a day, 6 days a week (resting on Mondays). Prices range from ฿1,800-฿2,000 depending on how long you’re staying.

4. P.K. Saenchai Muay Thai Gym – a gym that has produced champions

Saenchai is enough said. But for those who are new to Muay Thai, Saenchai is one of the best Muay Thai fighters to have ever graced the sport. P.K. Saenchai Muay Thai Gym is the gym he founded and the gym has produced excellent fighters. One of its most famous students is Tawanchai, the current ONE Featherweight Muay Thai World Championship.

They have top-of-the-line equipment and training that’s perfect for people who are looking to get serious with Muay Thai. But they also welcoming to beginners, so don’t get intimidated by all the big names here.

A 45-minute session here will cost ฿500. They also have weekly or month packages.

This is one of the more expensive options on this list, but it’s hard to argue with the quality of the training.

5. Luktupfah Muay Thai and Muay Boran school (ลูกทัพฟ้า) – learn the ancient fighting style that Muay Thai stems from

If you’re interested in learning Muay Boran, the ancient fighting style that Muay Thai stems from, Luktupfah has a course on it.

The gym is located in the rural outskirts of eastern Bangkok, so it’s got all the right vibes for a Muay Thai training. Despite that, it’s also close enough to the Airport Link and multiple popular shopping destinations like Talad Rot Fai.

6. Petchyindee Academy – a modern gym known for producing quality fighters

Petchyindee Academy is another gym that is known for steadily training fighters who would become champions.

Their gym is quite modern and packed with some of the latest available equipment for a more modern way of training.

Their beginner level courses are ฿500 per session or ฿5,000 for access to all the sessions available within a month.

They also have a tourist package for people who are also looking for accommodation. Their 3-day-2-night package costs ฿6,200 and includes 2 personal training sessions and 2 meals a day.

7. Lion’s Head Boxing Academy – great for beginners

In contrast to some of the more intimidating names on this list, Lion’s Head Boxing Academy is a very beginner-friendly spot with a coach that’ll break things down for you.

There’s a bunch of classes available like High-Intensity Interval Training or a sparring class so you can really hone down your basics.

Advanced booking is required for this gym. Classes start at ฿600 for a one-hour class.
