Things to do in Bangkok in October 2023


Halloween is just around the corner and Bangkok has a ton of activities lined up for it.

Here are our picks for things to do in Bangkok in October including a Halloween-themed art exhibit, a fair that’ll take over Siam Square, as well as an exhibit featuring Junji Ito’s iconic work. Prepare for a fun and spooky month.


1. Monet & Friends Alive: An audiovisual dive into the Impressionism

If you enjoyed Van Gogh Alive, or missed out on it like me, then check out Monet & Friends Alive. 

Much like the Van Gogh exhibit, this exhibit will use audiovisual technology to fully immerse you in art. This time, however, the focus will be on Monet and artists from the Impressionist period of art.

2. Chocolate Ville Spooky Town: A theme park restaurant turned spooky for Halloween

Chocolate Ville is a theme park and restaurant on the edges of Bangkok, and they are dressed up for Halloween. 

The restaurant, which is usually already instagrammable, is now decked with pumpkins, ghosts, ghouls, and the usual Halloween suspects. This makes it perfect for dinner dates and an impromptu photo shoot with your date, or some fun for the kids. 

There’s an entrance ticket price of ฿100 for adults and ฿50 for kids, but that ticket can be used to redeem discounts for food and drinks inside.

3. Party with the Devils: Usher in Halloween with art at RCB

Ghosts and spirits, like people, come in all manners of shapes and sizes. Party with the Devils is an exhibit at River City Bangkok that’ll feature art of a slew of various supernatural beings.

The art was curated by a group of artists inspired by the idea of the joyous spirit of children dressing up and having fun during Halloween, hence the exhibit name. 

The exhibition is free and will take place from 7-15 October.

4. Junji Ito Horror House: Limited time exhibit bringing legendary horror manga to life

Junji Ito is perhaps the most recognizable name in horror manga. His work tickles some of our most macabre curiosities deep in the recesses of our mind. 

Starting 7 October, you’ll be able to see some of his most iconic scares in person in the Junji Ito Horror House at MBK Center. So you don’t have to imagine the scares anymore, but actually feel them in person. 

There will be two routes with tickets starting at ฿400 per route or ฿750 for both. You can purchase tickets online here.

5. Bangkok Comics Art Festival: Admire Thai comic artists

Although Japanese manga reigns supreme in Thailand, the Thai comic scene has been steadily growing ever since they can distribute their content digitally. 

The Bangkok Comics Art Festival will showcase their talent at the Bangkok Art and Culture Center from 10-22 October. There’ll also be a two-day convention from 14-15 October that’ll panel discussions about the comic industry as well as other activities.

6. Siam Halloween: A horror fair taking over Siam Square

Siam Square is getting taken over by Halloween. From 27-29 October, the area, which is usually packed with high school and college students, will host a huge Halloween-themed fair. 

Siam Halloween will feature tons of food, music, as well as costume contests.

7. The Lord of the Rings – In Concert: Orchestra & choir performing music from the fantasy epic

The Prince Mahidol Hall will once again host a concert that plays music from popular movies and shows. Unlike the popular anime orchestras frequently performed here, this time the concert will feature music from Lord of the Rings. 

The Lord of the Rings – In Concert will showcase music from the iconic fantasy epic.
