In Thailand, there’s a job that usually comes along with festivals in the country called “งาน N”. To put it simply, the job is to accompany someone – especially a single person – to do things together, like having dinner or taking photos, in exchange for money.
Some people will publicise themselves for hire as festival companions on social media with ads ranging from jokes to serious asks. Likewise, these two grannies jokingly posted a TikTok video, saying that they were available for hire as Loy Krathong companions with a selection of prices. After the clip went viral, many netizens complimented both grannies for being cute.

Two Thai grannies available for hire as Loy Krathong companions

On 7th November 2022, TikTok user @j_bai90 posted a cute TikTok video of two grannies humorously advertising themselves for hire as Loy Krathong companions. In the video, one of the grannies shares the prices as follows:
- To be a companion for ฿200 (~USD5)
- To be a companion + taking photos for ฿300 (~USD8)
- To help search for coins in the sea for ฿500 (~USD13)
- To stay together all night for ฿1,500 (~USD40)
- Book us today, get one lighter for free
Later on, the clip went viral with more than 4.3 million views. Due to their originality, many netizens commented that both grandmas were cute and their short clip was extremely entertaining to watch.

NGL, the video really made our day with both grannies’ cute antics. Plus, it was unexpected for us to see old people making TikTok content, so this also shows that they are both young at heart in spite of their age.
