Thai cat litter & poop snack is made of chocolate & cookie crumble

People get real creative when it comes to decorating snacks and cakes. We’ve seen cakes that look like extravagant castles or even cakes that double up as toys. But in a slightly confusing twist, one bakery decided to make their snack look rather unique to say the least.

This Thai cat litter & poop snack made of chocolate & cookie crumble may look unappealing but it’s quite the delicious treat.

Here’s the story on this limited edition snack as well as how Thai cat owners reacted to the interesting presentation.

But when it came time to open a booth at a local fair, the Thai bakery decided to get a little creative in how to stand out. So they appealed to one of our carnal impulses. The Thai bakery made their snacks look exactly like a used cat litter tray by using chocolate and vanilla crumble. Their limited edition snack became the star of the show as netizens flocked to not only see the snack but also have a delicious bite of the ‘poop’.

Netizens can’t take their eyes off it

In pretty much the same way that we can’t seem to avert our eyes when viewing revolting videos of popping pimples, the cat litter snack stupefied both fairgoers and netizens. The original Facebook post by the bakery’s owner has been shared over 4,000 times at the time of writing.

Translation: Since it’s time for the bakery’s public showing, I have to show people that I’m for real. Limited edition.

Each share was clearly a dare to their friends to eat this snack.

Some even claim they could almost smell the picture from all the scooping they do from their own cat’s litter box.

Translation: How about we get this for May’s birthday cake next year?
Translation: I’m not brave enough to take a bite. If it smells the same, then this is definitely the real deal.
Translation: This is like a challenge: Pick the right one and get cake, or pick the wrong one and get poop.

One person cracked a joke about how accurately the snack captured the essence of the real deal.

Translation: Are we sure that no real cat poop was accidentally mixed in?

All this is proof that sometimes, you don’t need to colour within the lines to get the most outstanding drawing.

Standing out by being bold

The cat litter snack breaks a lot of conventional rules for selling food. But in doing so, the Thai bakery managed to get the attention of netizens from around the world. The risky decision seemingly paid off bigtime, as the product flew off the shelves at the fair.

By being bold and creatively unconventional, you can stand out from the crowd – especially if your technical proficiency is not on par with the best of the best. Taking the path less travelled does come with a caveat, however. Although this bakery managed to skirt the line well, pushing the boundaries too far can certainly result in marketing disasters too, so do take heed.

In this case, however, curiosity did not kill the cat, but instead birthed edible poop. And in a strange way, we’re all better for it.
