What does Tae (เท) mean?

You might be wondering why this market is called the Tae Flea Market and why it’s happening in early February. That’s because, in Thai, Tae means to dump or to get dumped, depending on the context. The word literally means to empty everything out of a container, sort of like how a person might empty their heart of all their feelings for another person.
With that in mind, it’s easy to see why the market is happening now. Simply, this market is for those who got dumped so if you’re finding yourself single this year, that’s just more reason to get your butt over to this market.

With the young and vibrant vibes of the Chulalongkorn and Siam area, you might meet new and exciting people who you might want to become friends with – or more.
