Mitramit Teahouse has Chinese tea and Thai snacks

Thailand is full of Instagrammable coffee shops. But if you’re looking to get away from all of that, Mitramit Teahouse is a very cozy, hidden-away cafe that focuses on relaxing vibes, rather than aesthetic pleasure.

Here’s how this teahouse will gratify both your palette and your soul.

If selecting tea beyond oolong tea or picking snacks to pair with said tea seems intimidating, then you won’t have to worry at Mitramit Teahouse. The famously friendly owner is more than willing to help any of the shop’s customers make their choices.

As a brewing expert, he’ll help guide you through which teas you want to try. He’ll also help you with all the Thai snacks that you might be unfamiliar with.

And if you’re in a chatty mood, the owner has plenty of stories to tell. But if you’re just looking for a quiet afternoon, then the shop’s excellent vibes have that covered.

Vintage and cozy vibes with modern conveniences

Sitting across the street from the Bang Lamphu museum, the café is tucked neatly into a small rowhouse. The cozy, vintage vibe is a perfect fit with its location, as Bang Lamphu is one of the oldest districts in Bangkok.

The wooden interior and furniture will have you feeling as if you’re back in early 1900s Siam.

The shop is also quite small, seating only about 12 customers at a time. The tables are also quite small, not suited for laptops and work. This means that the focus is on the tea and on the people you are with.

Despite its period vibe, the café is fitted with all the modern conveniences. You won’t have to worry about sweating as if you’re in the 1900s with full air conditioning. They also offer free Wi-Fi.
