Embassy of Sweden in Bangkok apologises after Thai citizen finds questionable Krapao in Sweden
Many Thai people commonly complain when it comes to Thai food in foreign countries as it doesn’t taste or even look like original Thai food in Thailand. What’s worse is when we encounter dishes with wrong and mixed-up ingredients that can change the taste completely. Consequently, we really miss our food in Thailand when we are abroad.
Similarly, a Thai citizen experienced a questionable Pad Krapao in a restaurant in Sweden. The person shared it on a FB group, and it became a viral. Later, The Embassy of Sweden in Bangkok posted an apology post on FB after seeing a viral strange Pad Krapao in Sweden post.

Embassy of Sweden in Bangkok apologises to not-quite Krapao in Sweden

On 31st August 2022, the Embassy of Sweden in Bangkok posted on their FB page to apologise and attached a picture of the unexpected Pad Krapao that a Thai citizen found in Sweden, according to Sanook.
This post went viral in ‘ชมรมคนรักกะเพรา‘ (Krapao Lovers Club) FB group, and the post was also shared widely. Nevertheless, this Pad Krapao thing has been discussed on social media over and over, even ones in Thailand because there is more than one version of Pad Krapao. Many netizens have debated what genuine Krapao is supposed to look like. With that being said, it might come off as an individual’s preference eventually.

Once the post was extensively shared, it got a lot of FB users’ attention.

One FB user said that it was Stir Fried Vegetables, not Pad Krapao.

What a sussy Pad Krapao
We’re sure this story caught a lot of attention and caused a feeling of doubt among Thai people due to lots of wrong ingredients used in the dish. To be honest, we find it really hard to accept it as Pad Krapao as well because it doesn’t absolutely look like one. The dish looks more like Sour and Sweet Stir-Fry. So we’re not surprised that this post went viral.
