New Bangkok bus depot
Given the ageing state of Bangkok’s current bus terminals, the prospect of a new, modern terminal on the horizon brings promise for enhanced convenience and efficiency.
Reportedly, there’s a project to construct a new bus terminal in the area of Bang Sue, close to Krung Thep Aphiwat Central Terminal.

According to the House debate about the 2024 budget on 27th December 2023, Transport Minister Suriya Juangroongruangkit talked about the rundown state of the Bangkok Bus Terminal (Chatuchak), also known as Mo Chit 2.
Mo Chit 2 got a lot of flak for its lousy service and connection issues, leading to a plan to establish a new bus terminal near the Krung Thep Aphiwat Central Terminal located in Bang Sue.

The new bus terminal was said to bring affordable convenience and efficiency to passengers, with features including an ensemble of tunnels and covered walkways designed to seamlessly link buses, trains, and electric rail services.
The terminal won’t have a bus depot to cut traffic. Buses will stick to schedules like at airports. The project costs seven billion baht and should finish in four years. They’re finalizing the land needed with the owner, according to Bangkok Post.
We’re having a new bus terminal
It’s good to hear about this new bus terminal’s plan! Our current Bangkok bus terminals are indeed pretty run-down, so constructing a new one is a great initiative. The upgrade can significantly enhance passenger comfort and overall experience while using the service. Anyway, we hope to see the old ones revamped as well.
Now we can look forward to this new bus terminal in the next four years and see what it’s gonna be like.
