Many iPhone users might be missing the fingerprint unlock function now, especially when Face ID can’t work when our faces are half obscured with a mask.

But YouTube channel spin9, recently posted a hack that lets us use this feature as per normal by following some simple steps.

Firstly, you have to prepare your face mask and fold it in half. Then, go to your settings menu on iPhone titled ‘Face ID & Passcode’ and then to ‘Reset Face ID’ to set up a new one with your face mask on.

Start the Face ID set up – don’t forget to cover half of your face with the face mask.

After that, move your face around just as you would when setting up a normal Face ID and remember to hold your face mask still.

The channel also added that this is not an easy task, so you may not succeed the first time.

Once you’re done, you’ll be able to unlock your phone both with and without a face mask. Also, don’t worry if other people with a mask might be able to access your phone – your phone would still be able to recognise your facial features.

Aside from taking care of yourself and others during the COVID-19 outbreak, this is another little hack that can make your life easier.

Social media is considered to be the quickest information source for now, so stay updated with the news and gain some useful tips during this hard time.
