A Thai woman posted her reaction to a repair shop denying her doll some much-needed repairs on 26th April 2023.

The clip shows the woman reading the message exchange between her and the repair shop. After sending over pictures of her plushie, the shop told her that the diagnosis was terminal.

“If the damage is not too severe, then we’re willing to accept all cases,” the shop said.

The woman, through tears and laughter, boldly claimed that her plushie was super cute and that there was no need to feel sorry for it at all.

However, her friend chimed in, “Pretty bold of you to send it in for repairs.”

And when netizens saw the plushie, many immediately understood why her friend said that.

The cute gray plushie has seen some damage, to put it mildly.

Being a lifelong companion, the plushie has had its share of repairs. It was immediately apparent to anyone who viewed the clip that the plushie resembled a Frankenstein’s mushroom as a result of all the stitchwork.

What was not apparent was what the plushie used to look like. This mystery baffled netizens and many left comments asking the owner.

One commenter even said her plush looked more like a pin cushion. The owner replied that around 8 years ago, the plush underwent surgery and got 60 stitches of multiple colours.

As for what the plush used to look like, the owner says that it used to be a white hole pillow.

In a follow-up post on TikTok, the doll owner even shared pictures of her travels with the plushie. After going along with its owner to places like Singapore, Australia, the UK, Japan, and even Dubai, it’s no surprise that the plushie is as aged as it is.

It’s clear that after almost a lifetime of traveling together that the little doll holds massive sentimental value for its owner.

Sentimental things are worth preserving

Despite its damage and how much its appearance has changed, the doll continues to provide immense emotional comfort for its owner. For that alone, it is worth trying to make sure the doll keeps on being a traveling companion for its owner for years to come.

At the same time, it’s also worth remembering to never let sentimental objects become too much of a crutch and to know when it is time to let go.
