Vivin Grocery is hosting a cheese buffet
VIVIN Grocery, a duplex bistro and grocer in Bangkok’s Ekkamai area, features local producers as well as creates their own products.
This Sunday 17th October 2021, the restaurant is hosting a Cheese Buffet, where visitors can sample over 20 types of locally-produced artisanal cheeses.
The buffet is priced at ฿990 (~USD30), and allows visitors to eat as much cheese as they’d like within a one hour and 45 minute time slot. A la carte dishes are not included in the price.
Visitors can either come between 11AM – 12.45PM or 1PM – 2.45PM and will need to book ahead with the restaurant.
This event on the 17th will be the first of monthly cheese buffets hosted by the restaurant.
What to expect at the cheese buffet
All the cheeses served have been made with local raw, unpasturised milk.
The buffet will also include salad, charcuterie, cold cuts, house-made jams and sauces.
All the vegetables featured at the buffet is certified organic and about 95% of all items are locally produced.
The only exceptions include: truffles, balsamic vinegar and olive oil that have been imported from Italy.
Cheese with a purpose
Just like we didn’t know Thailand had artisanal cheese producers, a majority of people are also unaware of the fact.
With their Cheese Buffet, the team behind VIVIN grocery aims to shine a spotlight on Thailand’s local cheesemakers, giving them a line of income as well as the chance to showcase their talents.

Plus, shopping and supporting local businesses can help minimise waste – creating a more sustainable future.
Book your spot at VIVIN Grocery’s cheese buffet
If the prospect of an all-you-can-eat cheese buffet that supports local businesses doesn’t excite you, then we don’t know what will.
It’s quite rare that Thai farmers from lesser-known areas would have their work showcased in gourmet markets, so we’re hopeful that this event help elevate their status.
We’re excited for the work that VIVIN Grocery is doing for the community.
