Children are a huge responsibility – they require immense amounts of time, energy and of course, money. However, seeing them grow up and thrive is rewarding enough to help some parents forget about all the sleepless nights and arguments.
In that same vein, there are also individuals who have opted against having children. Whatever their reasons are, it seems that the government is concerned about the declining birth rate.

Government looks at hiring momfluencers and celebrities
On 21st February 2022, a report about Thai health officials considering hiring celebrities and momfluencers to encourage couples to have children was published in The Thaiger.
If you’re unsure about what a momfluencer is, think Sherry from You Season 3 – it’s an influencer whose target demographic is mothers and therefor posts content relevant to them.
The Public Health Ministry further stated that Thailand’s birth rate is the lowest it’s been in 50 years. This presents an issue for tax revenue and labour.
Public suggests officials shift their focus
Officials have demonstrated that couples opting against having children is a national issue.
The public has suggested that the administration instead focus on improving economic conditions, which is said to be the main cause behind declining birth rates.
In response, Public Health officials have assured that momfluencer and celebrity marketing is just part of the strategy. Furthermore, they’ve thanked the public for voicing their opinions.
Do what’s best for you
Momfluencers and celebrities can certainly offer an inside look at parenting.
However, the most important factor when it comes to deciding whether or not you have kids is your own readiness.
