2 million vaccine doses from China


The recent outbreak of coronavirus has caused a sense of urgency. The Thai Ministry of Public Health has ordered 2 millions doses of China’s Sinovac Biotech Covid-19 vaccine.

The first batch of 200,000 will arrive in February 2021, according to the Ministry of Public Health, as shared on The Thaiger.

Last year, a partnership was formed between Siam Bioscience, the Thai biopharma company and Oxford University in producing the AstraZeneca’s Covid-19 vaccine. The vaccine is projected to be available to the public by May 2021.

In addition to that, the Thai government is aiming to vaccinate around 33 million individuals by the end of 2021.

Vaccines to tackle the virus are great news to the world, as the pandemic has prolonged into a new year. It’s important to keep a positive mindset and have patience in the middle of this world crisis.
