11 Places To Take Your Kids On Thai Children’s Day 2024 From Museums To Water Parks For A Family Day Out

Thai Children’s Day 2024

January in Bangkok is all about Children’s Day and taking it easy to start the new year. That’s why we’ve compiled a list of places that are putting on their best to celebrate the children. Don’t worry, you’ll enjoy these even if you don’t have kids.

Here are 11 places that are offering something special for Thai Children’s Day 2024 on Saturday 13th January.

1. National Aviation Museum of the Royal Thai Air Force (พิพิธภัณฑ์กองทัพอากาศและการบินแห่งชาติ) – sit in fighter plane cockpits and live out your imagination

Growing up with Top Gun meant that half my childhood was spent dreaming of soaring through the skies and shooting down enemy fighters. Seeing how popular the National Aviation Museum is during Children’s Day tells me that a lot of young Thai children still have that same feeling I did.

The museum has tons of planes on display ranging from modern jets all the way to World War-era planes and odd helicopters.

To make it extra special, they’ll be putting on a show and offer up tons of prizes on Children’s Day.

Address: 171 Phahonyothin Rd, Sanambin, Don Mueang, Bangkok 10210
Opening hours: 9am-3.30pm, Daily; 7am-4pm on Children’s Day

2. Government House of Thailand (ทำเนียบรัฐบาล) – sit in the Prime Minister’s chair

It’s a yearly tradition for the Government House of Thailand to open its doors during Children’s Day and let the children sit on the Prime Minister’s chair.

Many kids dream of being the nation’s leader one day, and this is a quick taste of what that might be like.

But if the prime minister’s chair isn’t enough, you should also check out the Senate’s activities at the Thai Parliament. They’ll be showing kids around the meeting rooms as well as a quick quiz with prizes.

Unlike the other items on this list, the Science Avenue isn’t the name of an actual location. Rather, it’s a collection of events and activities organized by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation.

The Science Avenue is exactly what it says on the tin. It’s an event that’ll showcase a lot of the fun parts of science like using a telescope in Astronomy or getting hands-on with human anatomy.

The event will take place in two places: 5th floor at The Street Ratchada from 12-14 January and at the Ministry itself from 12-13 January.
