Things to do at Siam Paragon
Shopping is fun, but it can get dreary if that’s all that a mall has to offer.
You’ll be surprised by the fact that some malls don’t just feature big brand stores like Valentino, Chanel and Prada.
We found a mall that houses the largest aquarium in Southeast Asia, a bowling alley with over 30 lanes, and hosts free Christmas-themed performances
So when bae asks you to please accompany her to get Christmas gifts, you know where to go hide and pass the time.
Here’s a list of things to do at Siam Paragon besides eating and shopping, as well as potential rewards you can earn from doing that.
Other places to check out around Siam:
- Must-try restaurants and cafes at Siam Paragon
- Siam Discovery is a lesser-known unique and hip mall
- Unique Christmas gifts you can get at Siam Discovery
1. SEA LIFE Bangkok Ocean World
Whether you’re a child or millennial in your late 20s, spending a couple hours at SEA Life Bangkok Ocean World is bound to spark the same joy and marvel as when you saw a shark up-close for the first time.
This 10,000 sqm aquarium is the largest in Southeast Asia and is brimming with attractions like a Shark Tunnel, interactive exhibits, and a penguin enclosure.
Sea life enthusiasts can even dive among the sharks. If you’re both a Christmas and ocean junkie, you can even observe Santa Claus feeding the sharks – instead of stuffing himself with cookies – until 26th December 2021.
Those looking to enjoy the marine life from above – a la snorkeling without getting wet – can opt for the aquarium’s Glass Bottom Boat Tour ฿350 (USD11).
From here, you can get up close and personal with sea-life like sawfish, leopard rays and tuna.
Sea Life currently has bundle tickets where guests can also visit Madame Tussauds at Siam Discovery for ฿1,390 (~USD41). However, those coming via the Singapore-Thailand VTL can redeem a bonus ticket to the aquarium’s 4D Cinema Experience.
If a visit to the aquarium sounds like too deep of a time-commitment for you, then we have another activity to pin for your next visit.

2. Blu-O Rhythm & Bowl
Hidden behind the grandeur of Paragon Cinemas is Blu-O Rhythm & Bowl, a bowling alley and karaoke joint.
The modern, spaceship-like bowling alley somehow manages to retain the carefree and fun vibes from our primary school birthday parties – minus the nostalgic 90’s decor, that is.
With 30 bowling lanes available, unseasoned bowlers can choose to practice their skills away from crowds for extra privacy.
An hour of bowling costs ฿1,200 (~USD36)/person and includes shoe rental. However, if you’re hesitant to commit an entire hour to bowling, Blu-O also lets you pay per game at ฿200 (~USD6)/round.
While we all love a trip down memory lane, we also get that not everyone wants to spend their days adventuring through an aquarium or figuring out how to bowl. If you relate, we think the next attraction will be right up your alley.

3. MOGA
If all you wanna do is sit back, relax and treat yourself while your friends are off looking at sharks and/or bowling, then MOGA is the place for you.
Located on the second floor, MOGA gives a whole new definition to the term “hair salon”. TBH, it evoked the same vibe as swanky aesthe clinics – but for hair. Here’s why.
Upon walking in – well, you can’t really do that, you need to make a reservation – the salon will pair you with an experienced stylist or even the salon’s director, who will thoroughly assess your hair and scalp health with a microscope.
After the assessment, the hair geniuses will recommend either a scalp or hair-focused treatment.
For this writer – who’s been been colouring her hair thrice a year for the past 12 years – they kindly recommended the Repair Treatment ฿2,800 (~USD84) to revitalise my washed-out and bleach-scorched tresses.
Using Milbon products, the staff performed what was probably the most soothing shampooing/scalp massage session of my life, before priming my hair for the treatment itself.
Yes, your hair needs to be primed for treatment.
After a couple rounds of careful application of the salve, multiple scalp massages and shampooing, my hair was blown-dry via a powerful hairdryer.
The end result was visibly softer and lusher locks. Of course, with your hair looking so good, it’d be a shame to deprive the world from seeing it.

4. Pose alongside Christmas decorations at Siam Paragon
Siam Paragon has Christmas decorations around the mall that not only bring cheer to whoever sees them, but also act as photo backdrops.

The theme for this year is “Magic of the Universe”, and was designed by North-Chakkrit Anantakul, who has worked with international brands like Uniqlo and Adidas.
Going on until 31st December 2021, the mascots of this year’s decorations include the Star Princess, and the Ice Prince.
The Star Princess, marked by her crown made of twinkling Christmas lights, was sent down to bring happiness and warm light amidst difficult times.
You can even take up-close-and-personal pictures with the Star Princess through an Augmented Reality Instagram filter.
To participate, simply scan the QR code provided by the tunnel of light located right in front of the mall.
While you’re there, you might as well stroll through the entire Christmas display, which includes a small playground.
Although, if you want to sprinkle a bit more magic onto your Christmas visit to Siam Paragon, then you’ll definitely want to keep reading.
5. Enjoy Disneyland-level performances for free
From 4PM onwards, shoppers may notice small – socially distanced – crowds gathering around the Christmas playground.

That’s because Siam Paragon is also hosting daily performances with dancers, stilt walkers and giant drummer boys until 31st December 2021.

The production value of these spectacular shows reminds us of what we would see at DisneyWorld when we were kids. That is, minus the cash we had to fork out to watch them.

The best part? These performances are free of charge for all mall visitors, and casual onlookers.
While Siam Paragon has all these non-shopping and eating related options, it’s highly likely that you’ll get roped into browsing a few shops “just for a couple minutes” with bae.
If you’re reluctantly accepting this to be a reality, we have something that might make shopping a bit more palatable for you.
6. Make Christmas shopping a bit more palatable by searching for hidden deals
Sometimes, shopping and eating at a mall is inevitable.
However, ONESIAM, the masterminds behind Siam Discovery, Siam Center and Siam Paragon, have found a way to make it easier for those of us who view these activities as chores.
The team has rolled out a VIZ Card for expats and a Tourist Card for foreign visitors in Thailand.
If you’re just passing through Thailand, you’re eligible to register for a Tourist Card which lets you save up to 30% on purchases at certain vendors – most of them are in the mall’s Open Spaces which are between built-in shops.
With family reunions coming up, it’s almost a guarantee that we’ll get some unsolicited advice against eating too much. Well, to that, ONESiam is rewarding foodies with a gift card.
By spending over ฿800 (~USD 24) or over on your meal, you can redeem a ฿100 (~USD3) Siam Gift Card from Siam Paragon.

BTW, those flying into Thailand on Singapore Airlines flights can snag an extra Siam Gift Card worth ฿300 (~USD9) until 31st March 2021.
Get into the festive spirit at Siam Paragon
Though a beloved holiday, Christmas can get stressful. Ensuring we get the right gifts for our loved ones, and making sure we book the perfect restaurants for our holiday meals can certainly take a toll on us.
To take your mind off of the chaos, we’d suggest heading over to try celebrating the holidays in ways other than shopping and eating.

We’re sure that your group of friends will remember a bowling game or visit to the aquarium followed by a Christmas show more than yet another holiday dinner.
Plus, you literally get rewarded for celebrating Christmas here.
With everything we’ve gone through over the past year, it’s high time that we reward ourselves with some adventure – right here at Siam Paragon.
