Siam Discovery gift ideas
Seeing our loved ones’ faces light up as they open our Christmas gifts warms our hearts.
Those fuzzy feelings often help us forget how much time we’ve to invest in finding the perfect gift that’s aligned with their interests.
With the holiday season quickly sneaking up on us, it seems that the unsaid deadline for finding out-of-the-box gifts that’ll impress your loved ones is also fast-approaching.
To make your Christmas shopping a little easier, we’ve compiled a list of 12 unique gifts you can find at Siam Discovery, from a portable air purifier to a handy beauty fridge that fits on a nightstand.
Other malls in Bangkok to do your Christmas shopping:
- Siam Discovery is a lesser-known mall with plenty of hidden gems
- ICONSIAM is an ultra-luxe mall with an indoor floating market
- Siam Premium Outlets Bangkok is an outlet mall 10 mins from Suvarnabhumi Airport
1. Aura Air Mini – ECOTOPIA
Given the current situation, stress and difficult emotions can sometimes get the best of us. That, and the worry that residual toxic particles remain in the air after we return home.
If you’re looking for a way to clear the air, may we recommend the Aura Air Mini (฿7,300, ~USD216).
The device uses a USB-C cable and takes two hours to fully charge.
The Aura Air Mini (฿7,300, ~USD216) is an air purifier that fits in the palm of your hand. Though small, the steriliser can last up to six hours and can create a toxic particle-free zone for spaces up to 10 sqm.
So, instead of lugging a full-size air purifier into your cubicle during allergy season, or sneezing up a storm in your car, just throw this 350g device into your bag.
2. Wheatgrass Bento Set – ECOTOPIA
As someone who’s allergic to practically everything, the idea of a portable air purifier really stuck out to me.
If the person you’re trying to pick out a present for is riddled with unexplainable allergies and other conditions, we imagine it’d be hard to find an eco-friendly gift that won’t set off any symptoms.
To that, ECOTOPIA has a solution: custom gift baskets made of bamboo and wheatgrass.
Our top-pick is on the right, the Wheatgrass Bento Set (฿1,035, ~USD31). We’d recommend this gift to someone who’s always on-the-go but somehow always manages to make their own lunch.
With everything we’ve been carrying on our shoulders this year, there’s really no need to add more weight to them. We’re sure they’ll appreciate the lightweight tumbler, lunchbox and straw – all made from wheatgrass.
The fun doesn’t end at wheatgrass bento boxes, though. The gift set includes an electric blue silicone straw that comes in an airpod-like case, shopping bag, and absorbent coasters.
Shifting back to the office after spending months at our cozy home desks may be a little hard, so why not make the transition easier by giving them everything they need to make their own lunch corner.
But, lunch boxes and tumblers do run the risk of leaking. If only there was another product we could recommend that would eliminate that fear completely.
3. RUBBER IDEA Toongyang Tote Bag – ECOTOPIA
The lightweight Toongyang Tote Bag (฿645,~USD20) is the ideal gift for your friend that’s always complaining about their cloth bags getting wet.
The 100% rubber and waterproof tote is also a pretty cheeky accessory. The Thai spelling of “Toongyang” is printed in large font across the bag.
The term can either mean “Rubber bag” or “condom”. Which one is it? You decide.
Whether you’re using it to transport your lunch, humidifier or even your heavy laptops, we’re sure that this bag is durable enough to carry all of them.
Shoppers can find all these gifts and more at ECOTOPIA, where you can even accumulate points on your VIZ card, but more on that later.
The section is located on the third floor of Siam Discovery, and is dedicated to marketing sustainable products, reducing waste and fostering an eco-conscious attitude.

4. SomeKooling Beauty Fridge – Loft
Over at Loft, we spotted the SomeKooling Beauty Fridge ฿2,390 (~USD71).
The temperature in this portable fridge can cool your face masks down to a comfortable 4°C as well as heat up your foundations to 15°C for easier application.
If you prefer to keep the fridge on your nightstand or your vanity that’s fine. But hey, in the words of Jake Peralta, “A thing can be two things”.
With all that space, there may just be room for snacks.
As an owner of a beauty fridge, I must confess that I’ve definitely brought it along on road trips – yes, you can plug it into the car – to keep our road snacks nice and cold.
5. MOKA Induction Cups – Loft
While MOKA pots have become a cult-favourite for coffee-enthusiasts, those of us who live in apartments without gas stoves can’t enjoy the coffee pot’s perks.
That is, until MOKA Induction Cups became a thing. These Induction Cups have all the same functions of a MOKA pot, without the requirement for a physical fire to brew your much-needed coffee.
Prices range from ฿3,370 (~USD100) to ฿3,995 (~USD119), depending on the size.
If a mini-fridge or fancy coffee pot seems a little too fancy, we’re sure the next one will be more to your liking.
6. VIBES Tote Bag – Loft
So, we’ve been talking about special gifts for our loved ones. Which is totally important.
However, there may also be times when you have to get gifts that are good for everyone, say if your office is holding a gift exchange.
For these instances, we’d recommend the VIBES Tote Bag (฿429, ~USD13). The tote comes in a wide array of colours, and even comes with a free matching mask strap.
Speaking of free things, those who spend over ฿3,000 (~USD89) – which any stationery junkie can easily do – will get their presents wrapped in Japanese furoshiki cloth.

7. Tree-In-One Eco Wine Stopper – Objects of Desire Store
Similar to Loft, Objects of Desire Store has a host of knick-knacks that you never knew you needed in your life – until you see them.
Unlike the Japanese-inspired store, though, ODS carries award-winning items by Thai designers.
Take this Tree-In-One Eco Wine Stopper (฿1,690,~USD50). Made of 100% natural rubber, the eco wine stopper is composed of a stopper and a funnel-pourer hybrid.
With this trio, you can temporarily cork your wine, pour it through a fancy leaf or even funnel it back.
We’d recommend this gift for the social butterfly who loves to entertain, but never has enough wine stoppers.
8. Van Gogh Ear Mug – Objects of Desire Store
While the above gift works perfectly for our beloved socialite, we also have something for our more introverted friends.
Presenting the Van Gogh Ear Mug (฿1,350,~USD40). The ceramic hand-made mug features one of Van Gogh’s ears on both sides – making it easy to hold onto.
The ear placements may also make it easier to hold a conversation. Even without saying anything, one could simply point at the mug they’re drinking from and confirm “We’re all ears!”.
9. Marble Baking Dish – Objects of Desire Store
With 2020 setting off a new baking fad that is projected to continue into 2022, it’s probably time we stop denying that our friend will stop making banana bread.
Instead, we can help them embrace their habits by picking up a BORNN Marble Baking Dish.
Each baking dish is made and hand-painted in Turkey, so there’s no other one like it. If that doesn’t scream “I got this especially for you”, I don’t know what will.
Prices start at ฿686 (~USD20) and go up to ฿826 (~USD25), depending on the size of the tray.

10. Bangkok Baskets – ICONCRAFT
Upon entering ICONCRAFT, the first things that caught our eyes were their iconic Bangkok Baskets. These wicker baskets are made in classic designs but hand-painted with colourful patterns.
They can cost anywhere from ฿680 (~USD19) – ฿950 (~USD28), depending on the size of the basket.
These baskets can work either as a present, or even as a classy wrapping bag for other gifts.
11. Co-ords Set by Sane Sober – ICONCRAFT
As someone who’s tried time and time again to buy the haute outfit for their fashionista friends, defeat is a feeling I’m familiar with.
If you’re nodding your head and dreading buying something for your fashion-obsessed friends, we have a solution–this hand-woven Co-Ord Set by Sane Sober.
The apparel is made with hand-woven cotton from Chiang Mai, Thailand, but presents a chic-design. The top costs ฿2,950 (~USD88) and the bottoms cost ฿4,590 (~USD136).
12. KAKKATOON Sauce Tassels – ICONCRAFT
Last – but certainly not least – on our list are these adorable gifts for only the sauciest of your friends.
The tassels are small enough to fit into your bag, as well as hang around your bag strap for some extra *spice*. Def consider this gift for a foodie who’s leaving Thailand.
These KAKKATOON Sauce Tassels are handmade by the artist herself and start at ฿700 (~USD21).
We think ICONCRAFT, which is directly across from the Objects of Desire Store, is a great place to spend an afternoon browsing the shelves for quirky trinkets with a homespun quality.
