Crafting your own fortune
Palmistry is popular among Thai people who believe in future predictions and fortune telling. Some say that everybody is born with a specific pre-destined fortune which can be read by one’s palm lines. If we know the possibility of how our lives are going to be based on my hands, we can then navigate our life the way we need.
We are all born with the lines on our hands such as ‘life’ or ‘love’ lines, but these aren’t always auspicious. But don’t be worried because now we can craft our future and luck by changing our own palm lines with tattoos.

Eyebrow tattoos have been quite popular for awhile. But what most don’t know is that people get it not only for beauty purposes, but also for better fortune and luck. Palm line tattoos are the new kids on the block and have seemed to get more and more attention among superstitious locals.
For eyebrows, people can get a specific shape or curve that is suitable with their physiognomy. This is similar to palm tattoos, where you can choose the lines that are best for your future.

Each line is tied to different aspects of one’s life – like prosperity, health, longevity, and love. So, you can let a palmist see what you lack and fill it in with a tattoo.
Mahaheng999 seems to be the first store providing customers with palm line tattoos in Nonthaburi. The shop was built by Ple, or Professor Ple, as their customers call her.

Ple informed Sanook that she tried the phenomenon on herself, and her own palm tattoos have made her successful as a business owner. Many customers also received impressive results with their businesses after getting inked. One shoe shop owner even sold all of their sandals in their stock after getting palm tattoos from Ple’s shop.
Depends on personal belief and attitude
Palmistry is similar to other superstitions and beliefs in Thai society. After Ple shared her story on Sanook, many netizens were concerned that this was just a business tactic to fool people for money. Some said that it were real, it would mean that there will be no more poor people in society, which “is nonsensical and impossible”.
However, others expressed interest in this service and felt that they would do it for a peace of mind.
People have different opinions and attitudes towards superstitions, and that’s fine. If getting your palm inked doesn’t bother anyone else, it’s your choice.
For anyone who isn’t scared of getting tattooed, you can try this new service during your next trip to Thailand and see if it works.
Just make sure you’re going to a reliable tattoo artist, cuz it’ll be inked for life!
