Even though many cafes in Bangkok nowadays come with modern and flashy styles, some of you might long for age-old cafes that give you vintage vibes circa the 80s or 90s.
Num Heng Lee is a small 70-year-old Chinese cafe that serves toast with custard and caramel coffee that you can enjoy in a nostalgic and old-school atmosphere.

The cafe is situated in an old shophouse along Chakraphatphong Road in Bangkok. To find it, you can look for the sign ‘หน่ำเฮงหลี 利興南‘.
In the past, this cafe was a popular spot where office workers came to gather and chat for hours.
The interior features original concrete walls and old furniture that has lasted along with the cafe. Upon entering, you can feel vintage vibes and feel as if you’re taken back to the 1950s in Bangkok.
You can try their coffee with a taste of caramel for ฿15 (~USD0.44), a set of four slices of toast served with custard for ฿30 (~USD0.87), and a glass of soft-boiled eggs for ฿20 (~USD0.58).
Getting to Num Heng Lee
It could be hard to find an old cafe like Num Heng Lee these days. so, with its vintage vibes and cheap coffee and toast, this cafe is a nice place to unwind on your free days.
You can take the MRT to Sam Yod Station, and catch a 2-38 EV or 8 REG bus to get to the cafe since it’s not located near a train station.
