Thai motorcycle taxi gets repaid for a random act of kindness

When you’re lost traveling, it feels like a godsend when a local helps you out. One Thai “win” motorcycle taxi driver saw a woman lost in Nakhon Ratchasima, so he did what he thought anyone would do: he helped her get to her destination free of charge. What he did not expect was for the woman to remember his kindness and seek him out for over three years to reward it.

Here’s the story that went viral on TikTok.

On 20th May 2023, a TikTok shared by a “win” motorcycle driver went viral after netizens felt touched by its wholesomeness. In the clip, the driver told the story of how one woman had finally found him after 3 years to repay him for his kindness.

The driver shared that he had found the woman who had lost her way. She was from out of town and was on her way to a restaurant that she would help manage. After speaking to her, the driver decided to help the lost woman get to her destination. He did not accept her money despite it literally being his job to drive people from place to place.

Touched by the driver’s kindness

The woman felt very grateful for the driver’s help. So much so that she remembered the number on his vest and then years later, tried to seek him out.

And she finally found him after 3 years of searching.

The driver himself admitted that he didn’t even remember the encounter. The woman gave him a free meal from the restaurant that she helped manage.

The random act of kindness certainly left an impression on her, but her own repayment left an equally strong impression on the driver as well.

Their kindness impresses netizens

The story quickly became viral on TikTok, where netizens expressed their admiration for both parties involved.

One commenter remarked that it’s often those who receive kindness that remembers the experience, not those who give it out.

Another commenter noted that while the free meal is nice, the gratitude felt from the woman’s actions is much more meaningful.

Helping strangers in need

This wholesome story certainly inspires us to be kinder to strangers who may need our help.

While you should always be careful to not have your kindness taken advantage of, the next time you see someone struggling, consider helping them out. You never know when you might become that stranger who needs help.
