The Korean Wave began with K-pop and K-dramas and has influenced the Thai lifestyle scene too, with everything from food and fashion to nightlife. Not only are Korean restaurants emerging – K-bars are making their mark all over Thailand too.

1. KIKI Korean Bar – bubble ice beer towers

Recognised for their signature “mini heart” neon sign, KIKI Korean Bar is located in Weng Bolan at Ekkamai Soi 10. The store’s design is inspired by street food stalls in Korea, known as pocha.

Bubble Ice Beer Tower

KIKI’s signature drink is the Bubble Ice Beer Tower (฿1,250 for 5L). This fancy tower comes lit up with smoke, making it an IG-worthy experience. Plus, it’s said to keep your beer chill for 2 hours, so it’s perfect for a long hangout session. If you’re in a smaller group, you can go for a glass of draft beer for ฿90.
When at a Korean bar, one must try more traditional alcoholic beverages too. Don’t miss out on their makgeolli (฿250) and soju, which comes in the following flavours:

For bites, nibble on some Cheese Tteokbokki (฿200) that’s topped with deep-fried gyoza and quail eggs. And we all know how good Korean fried chicken is, so try their Chicken Combo Set with Draft Beer Bottle (฿950), which is great for groups. The chicken comes in 3 flavours: original, spicy, and sour cream and onion.

2. Overseoul BKK – live acoustic bands every Monday

Overseoul BKK does not have a flashy exterior you will notice right away, so keep a lookout for its neon logo on an unassuming white building along the streets of Sanam Pao BTS station.
On the inside, you will be greeted with blue and pink neon lights and a cool industrial-loft themed bar, with popular K-pop tunes playing in the background.

There is live music every Monday with bands showcasing acoustic K-pop covers, and even popular songs from shows like Descendants of the Sun and Princess Hours. Plus, many guest singers are invited to perform every month too. Then, after 10PM, get ready for cool tracks put together by DJs. Check out the DJ lineup on their page.

For drinks, we recommend going with their Yoghurt Soju (฿341), which comes in a bottle and 4 cups for you to share with your buddies. Another drink to try is Itaewon (฿261), a mix of soju and fruit juice. Their juice selection is always switching up, so check it out before you order.
As for munchies, go for their Grilled Pork Marinated with Thai Anchovy (฿201) – bite sized grilled pork served on sizzling hot pan. Get ready for some tender, juicy pork that’s got a distinctive taste from the salty Thai fermented fish and spicy Korean sauce.
We also say go for the School Box (฿221), which is just what it sounds like. This cute lunchbox-style dish comes with rice, deep fried pork, kimchi, and an egg.

3. K-Pub – rainbow soju shots with a skyline view

K-Pub is a chill bar with a beautiful view of Rama 9 from the rooftop of Show DC shopping mall. It’s also managed by Korean record label YG Entertainment, so you can expect hits from famous bands like BLACKPINK, Big Bang, and IKON here.

The pub has an interesting luxurious yet industrial style to it, with lots of metal and leather furniture. Though it looks fancy, the menu is still rather affordable. Their signature drink is the colourful K-Pub Bomb (฿280). This comes in a set tiny rainbow soju shots mixed with fruit juice and bigger glasses of beer.

One dish that’s a hit with customers is the Beer Chicken (฿520) – a whole chicken served with potato wedges, grilled corn, peppers, and garlic. The beer-marinated chicken is roasted twice, resulting in a crispy skin and juicy meat on the inside.

This pastel green cafe-bar is actually inspired by Seoul’s Garosugil, which is known for its chic alleyways and cafes. The food sold here have Korean and European influences, which makes this a nice brunch spot to visit during the day.

- Spicy Carbonara Ramyeon (฿175) – ramyeon noodles and sausage are tossed in a combination of spicy Korean hot paste and carbonara sauce, topped with cheese
- Oppa’s Fried Rice (฿395) – A waiter will come straight to your table to cook this dish, which comes with tonnes of toppings like cheese, eggs, sausages, and kimchi. This is great for sharing among 3-4 people.

5. Sul BKK – kimbap-inspired cocktails

At first glance, you might not realise that Sul BKK is a Korean bar due to its sophisticated industrial decor. However, one look at the menu and you’ll know you’re in the right place.
For starters, have a go at their Korean-alcohol infused cocktails like Blowing Bubbles (฿350), a sweet and sour mix of strawberry soju, cherry bitters, raspberry and lemon juice. However the drink that really stands out is the Kimbap (฿350), aptly named after the savoury snack. It’s got cucumber and carrot juice, as well as a unique taste of seaweed which gives it the signature kimbap flavour.

Lovers of tteokbokki rice cakes should try Sul’s Liquid Gold Tteok (฿230), where the chewy morsels are covered in rich truffle cheese foam and an egg yolk to bring the creamy dish together.

6. Changwon Express – Craft beer with Korean-Mexican dishes

Changwon Express is a casual Korean bar that’s located in the city centre near Phetchaburi MRT station. It’s known for having a great selection of craft beers, so drop by to crack a cold one open with your buddies. The selection of beers on tap are rotated every week, with prices starting from ฿200.

Also, don’t hesitate to give the store’s signature Changwon Asoke pale ale 5% (฿200) a go. This is the first beer produced by the store, and has a light and fruity taste.
For bites, Changwon Express offers Korean-Mexican fusion food at friendly prices. Their Kimchi Taco comes filled with kimchi and bulgogi-style minced beef at only ฿200. You can also try their Nacho Fiesta (฿150), which has guacamole, salsa, and gochujang dips. Great paired with a cold beer for sure.

Here’s one for the party animals. K BOMB is known for playing a wide range of K-pop songs, from old-school tunes to the latest bops for patrons to enjoy.
Cream Bomb
Ease into the night with their signature makgeolli, the Cream Bomb (฿590). It comes in a 1.3L pitcher that’s great for sharing amongst friends. Popular Korean dishes are available here too, such as Kimchi Pork Soup, made from fresh veggies and streaky bacon. This can be paired with a bottle of soju with prices starting from ฿260.

If you are looking for something more spicy, Stir-Fried Octopus with Spicy Sauce (฿310) is your answer. This features a juicy octopus tossed in spicy kimchi sauce.
