Kaset Fair 2020
Bangkok’s most famous university market Kaset Fair is back with around 100 food stalls and many more stores selling everything from cute goodies to fun souvenirs. It goes without saying that this fair is perfect for everyone.
After our team went to check it out, we can say that the market is super huge it might have more than 1,000 stalls of munchies, goodies, and games there – that’s something to look out for!
The event is happening from 31st January to 8th February 2020, between 9am to 10pm at Kasetsart University (Bangkhen Campus), which is conveniently accessible by BTS.
Here’s what we think you should look for when you’re here.
Over 100 food stalls at Kaset Fair
It’s impossible to taste all the food here in just one visit, so here are the must-try items.
French fries enthusiasts, come to Toro Fries (฿99, ~USD3.20) and get long fries drizzled with sauces of your choice like cheese, pizza, or bbq (With sauce: ฿129, ~USD4.15). And don’t miss out on juicy Grilled Salmon Belly (฿30, ~USD0.95/stick), served with spicy and sour Thai seafood sauce.
If you’re a go-big-or-go-home type of person, head to the Thai-style floating food market and look for a Mookata Set (from ฿99, ~USD3.20) that comes with meat and vegetables that’s just nice for 1-2 people.
While you’re here, don’t forget to support food carts set up by Kasetsart’s students themselves. We got some refreshing Italian Soda (from ฿29, ~USD0.95), that came creatively served in “blood bags” from the medical students.
We also had Milk in Bags (฿12, ~USD0.39) produced by the university with flavours like choco, strawberry, and coffee – this is one of the most nostalgic snacks for every Thai youngster.
Eat and explore photo-ops around the fair
Once your tummy is filled up, now it’s time to have some fun. Head to the amusement area near the big pond where you’ll find some exciting activities including a haunted house and Wall of Death.
Too extreme for your taste? There’s also an array of carnival-style games from shooting targets with air guns to dart games, all starting from ฿20 ( ~USD0.65) per round. All games come with fun prizes like stuffed animals – aim well!
If you’re someone with a green thumb, shop for inexpensive local plants and flowers at the garden zone. The word “agriculture” is literally in the fair’s name, so we reckon you won’t be let down.
If you’re in Bangkok during this period, have some fun at Kasetsart University as part of your night market adventures.
