As Thailand confirmed a total of 14 Wuhan coronavirus cases as of today, both public and private institutions and organisations in the country have come up with solutions to keep locals and visitors safe from the virus.

Earlier this week, Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok and Khon Kaen University in northeastern Khon Kaen had announced similar statements regarding the outbreak. Both universities have allowed their students and staff who recently arrived from abroad to take a leave of absence of up to 2 weeks without it affecting their absent leave count.

The universities have also encouraged members to monitor themselves and see if they have any symptoms of flu, considering the novel coronavirus incubation period can take up to 2 weeks.

Major mall groups like Siam Piwat, Central Group, and The Mall Group have assured their customers’ safety by levelling up their cleaning procedures from frequent cleaning to installing hand sanitiser stations at various spots.

Siam Piwat even installed body temperature scanners at its malls including Siam Paragon, Siam Center, and Siam Discovery – the machine will always be monitored by the staff.

If there are customers with high body temperature, the staff will contact the Ministry of Public Health for further diagnosis.

It’s great that they are looking out for our health and safety amidst this time. You can also start taking care of yourself by wearing a mask properly and washing your hand regularly – take care!
