While Thai doctors, nurses, and other healthcare workers are working hard to curb COVID-19 infections and taking care of those who are sick, hotels in Bangkok are lending a helping hand for these frontliners.

Earlier this week, 2 hotels near Victory Monument, Yello Rooms and  The Quarter Bangkok, announced on their websites that they will be letting healthcare personnel stay at their hotels for free. This starts from today until further notice.

Close to hospitals

Many of these hotels are located in central Bangkok and are close to big hospitals. For example, Yello Rooms Hotel is a few metres away from major hospitals like Rajavithi Hospital and Phyathai 1 Hospital.

Miss Nattima, the owner of The Quarter Bangkok, said that doctors and nurses don’t need to travel all the way home when they can crash at a place that is much nearer and convenient.

No need for overnight stays

All hotels also said that doctors and nurses can just get a room if they want a place to take a shower and change, or even just to unwind after their long working hours.

The only document these places require is a work ID to confirm that the person is a real healthcare worker.

Now, it seems like more hotels in other areas are joining this movement, such as Eastin Tan Hotel in Chiang Mai, which will be starting from 1st April 2020.

Kudos to all the hotels for being so generous to our hard-working healthcare workers during this hard time. Let’s get through with this together.
