A Thai woman in Taiwan was arrested for not paying the fine of NT$1 million (~฿1,090,000) to Taiwan’s Ministry of Health and Welfare and trying to escape the country after she broke her 14-day quarantine orders by giving officials a fake address and contact information.

Government officers could not contact woman

The woman arrived in Hualien, Taiwan as a tourist on 18th March 2020, and filled in fake information, including her address and contact, on the immigration document required by the Taiwan government at the airport.

Therefore, government officers could not contact the woman to follow up on whether she was complying with the mandatory self-quarantine order for all arrivals. They decided to get assistance from the police in finding her, reports EBC TAIWAN.
