Thai Eateries Come Together To Feed The Poor & Homeless So No One Goes Hungry Amid The Pandemic

Thai restaurants making food available to everyone

The pandemic has struck the economy hard, and people even worse. This is especially true for those who were already barely scraping by financially.

In the midst of it, there are some restaurant owners who wanted to make meals – and faith in humanity – available for all.

While masks are in high demand and even being sold at a markup, the couple is giving them out for free with all boxed meals.

Netizens also showed their support for the couple.

Chef Deppankar “DK” Kholsa, owner of fine-dining establishment, Haoma, chef and his green team started #nononehungry in November. The campaign asked for donations to support the restaurant’s “Temple-kitchen”, which provided around 100,000 meals. Khaosod English reported that they gave out Thai biryani rice with chicken – a dish from their fine dining menu.

The neo-Indian and fine-dining restaurant, Haoma, is renowned for their sustainable approach- the restaurant grows herbs and vegetables in their own garden.

“We at HAŌMA pledge to care, feed and nurture till the time we don’t see the change coming in everyone around us.”, as they shared that caption on their Facebook.
