Thai burglar breaks into shophouse to eat food & take a nap

You’d think that the tale of Goldilocks is too absurd to ever happen in real life. Well you’d be wrong because that’s exactly what this Thai burglar did.

Here’s the story of how one Thai burglar reenacted Goldilocks by breaking into a shophouse to eat food, and take a nap.

Hungry & sleepy thief breaks into a house in Thailand

A rural second-hand shophouse in Udon Thani is hardly the premier choice to be broken into. So it came as a huge surprise for the shop owners when they opened up shop one morning to find that someone had used their rice cooker.

In a bizarre turn of events, the mysterious thief had left the shop owners with a bunch of cooked rice within the pot. But that’s not all. The thief had made that rice to eat along with some fried pork – which he had also cooked in the shop.

Just when you think the story can’t get any weirder, the shop owners then found that the thief had made his or her way upstairs, turned on the AC in the bedroom, then slept in their bed.

The tl;dr was basically that the thief had unwittingly reenacted the exact plot of Goldilocks by breaking in, eating a bunch of food, then sleeping.

Thief evades capture unlike the fairytale

Unfortunately, unlike in the original tale, the owners did not open their bedroom door to find the thief still sleeping there.

The thief had gotten away with extra loot, including 1 laptop, 4 packs of instant noodles, fish sauce, sugar, and 5 kilograms of rice.

He must’ve been hungry to have stolen so much food. Here’s to hoping that the thief reenacts another tale by leaving a trail of literal food crumbs for the police to follow, so that justice can be served soon.

Goldilocks: Thai edition

So we’ve gotten our answer on how the classic Goldilocks tale would’ve gone if it had happened in Thailand. All the dishes would’ve been perfect, there would be air conditioning, and the bandit would’ve made it out before the bears came home to catch the thief.

But we hope that’s not how this tale ends. May the authorities crack the case and catch the culprit soon, serving up just the right amount of justice on a platter that not too hot, not too cold.
