Teenage twins open barbershop in Hat Yai

Aside from absorbing knowledge from books and school, kids – especially teens who are finding themselves – need to experience life outside the classroom to see what they may have passions in.
As for these 15-year-old twins from Hat Yai, they found their passion in the art of hairdressing and knew they wanted to be barbers despite their young age. Today, they’ve got their very own barbershop.

Korrapat “Tam” Wattanasatityanon and Korrarit “Tle” Wattanasatityanon are the owners of Barber Tist, their successful barbershop that offers services to customers in Hat Yai, Thailand.
The pair first learned how to be barbers at the young age of 11, and it’s amazing to see them have their own salon at just 15. It’s been open for almost a year now and sees customers of all ages, from kids and students to adults and senior citizens!

Both twins still in school
On weekdays, Tam and Tle still go to college to continue their education. At around 4-5pm, the pair head to their shop and stay till 9pm. Over the weekends, they work hard and serve customers from 10am-8pm.

In their 3 years of being hairdressing students, they’ve collected lots of experience both in and out of school, such as from events and fairs. And don’t doubt their skills just because they’re young – you can check out their great work on their Facebook page and Instagram.
Inspired by a barber they met while young
You might be curious as to what made them decide to be barbers. Their mother, Suda, shared with Springnews that they had brought the twins for a haircut when they were younger. Impressed by their barber’s skills and good work, they decided that they wanted to be just like him.

A year later, the twins insisted that they wanted to take it seriously and study to become barbers. Thus, Suda and her husband decided to support their wishes and are very proud of their achievements today.
The twins’ dad, Siriphong, also added that after owning their own shop, they have learned about the hardships of making money and are more responsible about how they spend it. He mentioned that they’ve grown up a lot too, despite being only 15.
