Eats Payao Home-Bar & Kitchen is a small bistro that started off serving northern Thai cuisine, which now also serves some iconic Singaporean dishes like Chilli Crab and Pepper Crab dishes for ฿1,800 (~USD59.33)

4. Pui Peng Bak Kut Teh Singapore – Pork


Pui Peng Bak Kut Teh Singapore is a new home delivery kitchen that exclusively serves Singaporean-Teochew style Bak Kut Teh – clear broth with herbs and selected meats. 

Literally translated, Bak Kut Teh means ‘meat bone tea’; the dish is traditionally pork ribs, but can be cooked with chicken, beef and even seafood.

The soup at Pui Peng comes with an extra garlicky and peppery flavour as well as an umami taste, along with the meat being succulent and soft.

This eatery offers three different sizes of Bak Kut Teh; small sized with three pieces of pork rib for ฿200 (~USD6.59), a medium sized bowl with five pieces for ฿300 (~USD9.88), and big sized with ten pieces ฿590 (~USD19.43)

You can order as a set with rice and Soy Milk as well for ฿405 (USD13.35) excluding delivery fees. However, their prices will vary depending on the delivery courier services that they’re partnered with – their food can be ordered through Grab Food, GoJek, Robinhood, and Lineman.

5. Old Street Bak Kuh Teh – Dry Bak Kut Teh


Old Street Bak Kut Teh Thailand is a Bak Kut Teh franchise that’s straight from Singapore. They’ve got a couple of branches but the one in Bangkok’s city centre, Siam, is one of the most popular due to its convenient location.

They’re known for their delicious claypot pork rib dark and dry Bak Kut Teh – in contrast to the soup Bak Kuh Teh, the dryness of this claypot meal adds an extra smack of soy sauce and herbs. 

The pork ribs are marinated in a variety of herbs, and condensed with soy sauce. For those who aren’t enthusiastic about spice, do note that the dish comes with chilli peppers – so be sure to let the restaurant know that you’d like a mild serving.

6. Boon Tong Kiat – Hainanese Chicken Rice

Boon Tong Kiat is a Hainanese chicken rice restaurant that’s conveniently located in the fancy neighbourhood of Thong Lor – the establishment is known for their budget-friendly servings of what may as well be Singapore’s national dish.

Their steamed and juicy chicken rice come with a bowl of soup and three different sauces you can choose from – sour sauce, soy bean curd and shredded ginger. 

Even though their Hainanese Chicken Rice ฿65 (~USD2.15) may look simple, the meat is super tender, and when combined with the rice that’s cooked traditional style with garlic, can be really filling.

In addition to Hainanese Chicken, Boon Tong Kiat also serves Roasted Duck and Char Siew with Steam Rice ฿80 (~USD2.64) – the roasted duck has that fragranced soy sauce texture and the charred fatty pork slices practically melt in your mouth.

Their Chicken, Honey Roasted Pork Ribs and Crispy Pork with Steamed Rice ฿75 (~USD2.48) is for those who love crispy pork – their crispy pork is soft, quite crispy, and low in grease.

7. Jumbo Seafood – Chili crab in XXL sizes


Jumbo Seafood is a Singaporean franchise that was established in Bangkok, and it’s conveniently located at the luxurious mall of ICONSIAM
