Monk gives locals a cash handout
A Facebook post showing Phra Kru Phanom Prechakon, an abbot’s secretary at Wat Phra That Phanom Woramahawihan in Nakhon Phanom, giving community members ฿500 (~USD15) each in cash became talk of the town on social media in Thailand.
Dozens of locals queuing up for cash handout were shown in a series of pictures uploaded on the monk’s Facebook account, PhrakruPhanom Prechakon.
Abbot’s secretary wins ฿18M jackpot
Prior to providing cash to locals, the abbot’s secretary reportedly won ฿18 million (~USD548,450) in the latest lottery draw from 1st March 2022, according to Amarin News.

He revealed that he had bought three lottery tickets with the auspicious number ‘605’, which he saw while praying with a Thao Wessuwan statue.
Each lotto ticket landed him the jackpot, ฿6 million (~USD182,570), bringing the total to ฿18 million (~USD548,450), as reported by Khaosod.

Following the prize he had won, Phra Kru Phanom decided to give monks, locals, and workers at the temple ฿500 (~USD15) each, which totaled ฿800,000 (~USD24,400).
The abbot’s secretary also donated ฿4,000,000 (~USD121,740) to the temple at which he resides.
Furthermore, Phra Kru Phanom announced on his Facebook that the rest of his prize money was donated to charities.

After the post made rounds on Facebook, many netizens paid their respect to the abbot’s secretary in the comments section.
