It seems like just yesterday that we were celebrating Amanda Obdam’s placement in the Miss Universe pageant.
With a successor like Anchilee Scott-Kemmis as Miss Universe Thailand 2021, we’re confident that Thailand will snag a couple more wins at the Miss Universe pageant in Israel later this year.
Here’s some facts about this year’s Miss Universe Thailand, Anchilee “Ann” Scott-Kemmis so you can get to know our representative a little better.

1. Miss Universe Thailand 2021 is running on a body positivity platform #RealSizeBeauty
Anchilee is considered Thailand’s first plus-size Miss Universe representative.
After she was crowned Miss Universe Thailand on 24th October 2021, Anchilee posted an IG shoutout to those who “don’t meet the (beauty) standard”.
The Miss Universe Thailand winner’s social media shows multiple posts where she candidly discusses her body image struggles, as well as advocating for the public to accept themselves the way they are.
Her caption reads, “Pave your own way, make your own standard. Celebrate yourself.”

2. Anchilee Scott-Kemmis went to NIST
Falcons, rejoice.
Anchilee Scott-Kemmis is a proud NISTie. She attended the Bangkok international school from years 1 through 13.
3. She was captain of her high school volleyball team
While at NIST International School, Ann was part of multiple sports teams.
She played on the volleyball team for seven years, and was even the captain at some point.
As if seven years of dedication to a sport isn’t enough, Anchilee also played on the school’s softball team.
Is there anything this queen can’t do?
4. Miss U Thailand has a dog named “Misu”
Of all the lewks she serves on her Instagram, this one is our favourite.
These puppy dog eyes belong to the pageant queen’s French bulldog, Misu.
5. Anchilee has a brother
The Thai-Australian powerhouse has a brother, Khen.
These siblings were born and raised in Chachoengsao, Thailand to an Australian father and Thai mother.
6. Anchilee Scott-Kemmis is off-the-market
It’d be hard not to crush on an athletic pageant queen who advocates for body positivity. Unfortunately, though, Anchilee is taken.
Her partner, Semisi Tupou, has posted in support of her Miss Universe journey.
We stan a man who proudly champions their partner.
7. The beauty queen was told to lose 10 KG at 13 years old
#RealSizeBeauty, Anchilee’s body-positivity movement, was inspired by an unfortunate experience nine years ago.
When she was 13 years old, she was encouraged to lose 10KG at a casting call.
Anchilee further stated, as reported on Thai PBS World, that a sense of responsibility towards helping younger women feel normal in their bodies also sparked her movement.

The Miss Universe pageant gives us the opportunity to celebrate a large number of impressive women who are not only beautiful, but also extremely talented.
We truly appreciated the attention that the show gives to each contestant’s cause and backstory, as it provided the audience to also get to know each contender on a deeper level.
