8 Japanese stays in Thailand

Japan’s wide array of palaces, temples as well as modern structures that tell the nation’s story draw a plethora of Thai tourists to the island.

That is, until we’ve had to put a pin in our Japan trips.

If you’re still aching to get a taste of Japanese design elements, like tatami rooms and onsens, then we have good news for you. Thailand has a few establishments that resemble little pockets of Japan.

Here are 8 Japanese hotels, resorts, and hostels in Thailand with tatami rooms, onsen, or both.

Other hotels in Thailand:

1. Haikin Ryokan – peaceful stay with a variety of bathtubs

First up on the list is none other than Haikin Ryokan. This Japanese-style hotel & restaurant is ideal for visitors who look for a hotel with a tranquil atmosphere as it places emphasis on peace and quiet.

But, what sets this hotel apart from others is that its facilities were built to offer visitors a bathing experience as close as possible to what they’d experience in Japan.

Just look at those decorative Toros, traditional Japanese stone lanterns, situated along the pathway.

Chiang Rai Ryokan was established after the attraction’s owners, Olarn and Phrompong Jindawong Netharn, returned from their trip to Japan. Feeling impressed by the customs and atmosphere of the Japanese countryside, they were inspired to replicate the environment in Thailand
