Earlier this month, “Veterinarians Do Good”, a non-profit organisation that offers free health service for animals national-wide in Thailand, shared a heartwarming story about a grandma and her cats in Ubon Ratchathani.

In the post, they shared that the grandma woke up early in the morning to bring her cats to their volunteer station for sterilisation. She had put them in bamboo baskets and onto a trolley and made her way to the clinic.

Initially, she couldn’t remember which temple the service was taking place at, so she took them to temple after temple in the area. “We didn’t know how many temples she had been to [before reaching us],” said the page.

She finally found the right spot and received a queue number, waiting with other pet owners from the district.

She couldn’t hear her queue number

Due to her old age, the poor grandma couldn’t hear her number being called, which happened several times through the morning and afternoon. Fortunately, there were food and drinks provided for all pet owners.

Right before the staff decided to erase her number at 3pm, the grandma walked up to them and asked about her turn. She was then given the last queue number.

Her 3 cats were successfully sterilised at 9pm with help from the supportive staff.
