After the news was covered overseas, many world leaders mourned the tragedy, condemned the violence, and sent their condolences to Thai citizens.

Liz Truss, the UK Prime Minister, tweeted that she was shocked when she learnt of the news. She also expressed her condolences and said that UK stands with the citizens in Thailand.

Anthony Albanese, the Australian Prime Minister, also stated this tragic mass shooting was unacceptable, expressing love and condolences on behalf of Australians to the victims of this tragedy.

UNICEF Thailand declared their sadness towards the cruel event in Nong Bua Lamphu and condemned all kinds of violence committed to children, regardless of the time and place.

This is but a glimpse of all the tweets from world leaders and organisations joining Thailand in our grief, but it was comforting to see so many send their condolences to the Thai people.

We hope the girl is fine and is cared for by people around her

Like many others, we can’t find the words to express our sadness over the situation since we heard the news. Many innocent lives have been taken, in what should have been a safe space to take a nap during the day.

However, we’re glad that at least, by some miracle, this one little girl still lives, and we hope that any cruel memories would fade over time. We’re also thankful for all the condolences that the world has sent to our nation.

Hopefully, this will be the last time our country has to grapple with a reality that is this harsh, because the loss of any life in peace time is unacceptable.
