Former minister helps fight COVID-19

In light of the COVID-19 crisis, hospitals around Thailand are facing a shortage of medical supplies, including essential items like face masks, gloves, and even PPE suits.
Last weekend, Facebook user Aurapat Rangsiwongs posted a video of former Deputy Minister of Education Udom Kachintorn, M.D., sewing shoe covers for healthcare workers at Siriraj Hospital.
A part of the caption read: “He’s sewing shoe covers for healthcare workers who are responsible for COVID-19 cases at Siriraj Hospital. ”
Dr. Kachintorn held the position of Deputy Minister of Education between 2017 to 2019. In his early years, he was also the Dean of Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital.
Netizens praised his good deed
After the news broke out, many netizens expressed their gratitude towards the doctor, and some even admired his sewing skills.
Translation: The doctor is super cute. Despite his retirement, he still cares for fellow doctors and nurses.
Translation: We can easily help all the health workers by staying at home for at least 2 weeks. This way, we won’t be putting extra burden on their shoulders.
Translation: He truly has a great heart. His sewing skill is also neat, unlike mine.
Dr. Kachintorn has proved that his responsibility for the public goes beyond his title – we salute you for that.
