Chao Xiang Restaurant is neither glamorous nor extravagant, but it has all the vibes of a vintage Chinese restaurant in Bangkok. This is the type of restaurant that a middle-class family of Chinese-descent would eat at to pamper themselves on a limited budget. The dim sum might take a while to come out, but once it does, it’s pretty darn good.
Unlimited dim sum for ฿620 per person with a huge Chinese-style round table? Sign me up for this dose of nostalgia.

2. Nan Yuan 藍園 in Grand Fortune Hotel Bangkok: fancy dim sum buffet near Jodd Fairs

Nan Yuan 藍園 in Grand Fortune Hotel Bangkok offers exactly what you’d expect from a hotel buffet in Bangkok 2024. It’s near the MRT, right next to a very popular night market in Jodd Fairs, and has all the fancy bells and whistles of a fancy hotel.
You might not be getting the round table experience with Chinese vibes, but the dim sum buffet will make up for that.
The lunch costs the very auspicious price of ฿888++ for lunch (if you don’t know, 8 is a lucky number in Chinese). Their dinner buffet is ฿1,588++, but there’s a promotion where 4 people only pay for the price of 3. Only available from 5-12 February.

We’ve covered a lot of dim sum buffets, but what about peking duck, abalone, and Hong Kong-style crispy pork? Wisdom International Buffet offers all that and more.
At the starting cost of ฿999++ for buffet packages, locals consider this an accessible fine dining option. They also have plenty of branches, but their most popular one is in Siam Square One.

If you’re looking for a feast for the whole family and more, YOK Chinese Restaurant has set menus with all the classic Thai-Chinese feast dishes.

5. East Ocean Chinese Restaurant at SC Park Hotel: humble dim sum buffet in a lowkey residential area

The other options so far have been in very high traffic areas with long queues and reservations. East Ocean Chinese Restaurant, on the other hand, is located in a lowkey-ish neighbourhood in northern Bangkok.
Despite that, it still draws in quite a crowd for its delicious food and humble prices. Lunch dim sum buffets are ฿850 and dinner peking duck buffets are ฿990 on weekdays.

Hong Teh Restaurant is another option that’ll absolutely steal my Chinese grandparents’ hearts. From their nostalgic decor to their killer promos, this restaurant really knows their customers well.
Their all-day dim sum buffet starts at ฿999, ฿1,650 for two, and there’s even a promo for paying only for 3 with 4 people.

You wouldn’t expect a name like Versailles Palace to serve Chinese food, but that’s how we roll in Bangkok. While it isn’t as fancy or as popular as its namesake, this restaurant hits all the right taste notes with its dim sum buffet.
