Warorot Market closes in Chiang Mai

Warorot Market, the biggest and busiest market in Chiang Mai, has now closed down until further notice due to the government’s closure policy to curb COVID-19 infections.
Founded in 1933, the market is among one of the oldest shopping areas in the province. It’s also a very popular shopping hub for both locals and visitors.

The last time Warorot Market closed was in 1968 when it caught on fire. It reopened again 4 years later after a big renovation.
