Kaeng Krachan National Park is one of the famous national parks in Thailand. The park is the largest national park located in Phetchaburi, which is 3-hour drive from Bangkok.

Ban Krang Camp is a popular site in Kaeng Krachan National Park that’s well known for watching beautiful butterflies in summer. Here, you’ll see an abundance of butterflies swarming rocks, streams, and flowers.

During the summer months from March to May, it’s the good season to come and watch butterflies swarming amidst abundant greenery. The common species include Common Jay, The Common Bluebottle, Common Sailor, Black Rajah and more.
The best time to see butterflies is between 10am and 3pm.
Admission fee starts from ฿60 (~USD1.65) per Thai person and ฿300 (~USD8.24) per foreigner.
How do I get to this butterfly-watching festival in Kaeng Krachan National Park?
This butterfly season is an occasion you can only enjoy during the summer. Not only you can enjoy watching butterflies but also enjoy other fun activities such as trekking, camping, and taking in a panoramic mountain view.
Driving from Bangkok to Kaeng Krachan National Park takes about three hours. You can take road no. 35 from Bangkok to Pak Tho District, Ratchaburi and then take road no. 4 to Tha Yang District in Phetchaburi. Afterwards, take road no. 3499 to Kaeng Krachan National Park.
If you wish to take a bus from Bangkok, you can board one at Mochi Bus Terminal. The bus will take you to Phetchaburi Bus Terminal, and then you can continue on a bus or a van at the terminal to Kaeng Krachan National Park.
