Shabu after COVID-19

Since the government eased the lockdown and allowed businesses to reopen from 3rd May, many owners are figuring out the way to make their eateries safe from COVID-19.
Penguin Eat Shabu is one of many restaurants in Bangkok that came up with a brilliant idea that allows its customers to eat together without having to worry about the virus.

The restaurant built a clear partition for tables in a way that allows diners to see and talk to each other. It’s almost like dining together like the old times!
To follow the government’s health guideline, the restaurant also provides free face shields and hand sanitiser.
Low budget and applicable

The partitions were made from transparent plastic sheets and polyvinyl chloride (PVC) pipes, which are light in weight and easy to install.
“Each partition cost around ฿200 to ฿300 (~USD6-9), which is for 1 table,” said the Mr. Thanapan, the restaurant’s owner.
Urging other restaurants to follow

In the interview with Voice TV, Mr. Thanapan urges other places to create their own partitions because it’s easy to make and cheaper than buying them in the market.
He also said that his team wanted to build the partitions for small eateries that don’t have enough money.
