Thai Govt To Extend State Of Emergency, No Nationwide Lockdown Yet

Extended through 28th February 2021

The Royal Thai Government is extending the State of Emergency Decree through 28th February 2021, to reduce the spread of Covid-19.

The Centre For Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) proposed the measure due to quick rise in Covid-19 cases.  Mr. Wissanu Krea-Ngam as Thailand’s Deputy Prime Minister stresses that the Covid-19 spread is still in the first stages. Should the situation worsen in ‘red zone’ provinces, the Government will consider the spread to be in the second stage. The Pattaya Mail reported that nationwide initiatives will be implemented in the event of a second stage spread

Thai provinces tightened Covid-19 control measures

Thailand’s provinces of Buriram and Koh Larn in Chonburi have strict measures on curbing the virus.

Koh Larn Island, in particular, has made travel to and from the island very difficult. Both areas have imposed travel restrictions to curb the spread of Covid-19 within their province, and around the country.

Stock up food, not toilet paper

The state of fright has toned down a lot since we’re all more aware of the virus. It’s important to stock up food at home – and stay there – in order to prevent the spread of the virus.
