Thailand encourages citizens to support vaccine research
Earlier this month, Chulalongkorn University declared a goal to create a COVID-19 vaccine by May 2021. They also launched “Covid-19 Vaccine For Thais”, a crowdfunding campaign with the goal of raising ฿500 million (~USD 16,556,017) to build a medical facility dedicated to vaccine production, as reported by the Bangkok Post.

Polpot Asavaprapha, personal stylists to many Thai celebrities and designer of the Initiative’s merchandise, stated “Thailand must stop moving in circles. With a ฿500 (~USD 16.55) donation from 1 million Thais can help Thailand dream”.

To incentivise citizens to support the cause, Chulalongkorn University is offering “Vaccine for Thais” offers the first million donors:
- Discounted health, home and car insurance premiums – courtesy of sponsors, Viriyah Insurance Public Company Limited and Dhipaya Insurance Public Company Limited
- First dibs on reserving a dose of the tried-and-tested the vaccine
Interested parties can register at www.CUEnterprise.co.th from 18th December, and can claim their benefits from 25th December .
