Thai public transport has been promoting social distancing by marking off seats to prevent commuters from sitting too close to one another. Similarly, a Myanmar transportation company installed plastic curtains and have been offering only single seats to avoid spike COVID-19 cases from close physical contact.

Shwe Mandalar Express is a transport company in Myanmar that has prepared buses to cope with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic by creating plastic curtains for each seat.

Besides, they promote social distancing by offering only single seats, which are disinfected with a sanitising solution before service.

Netizens question its effectiveness
The Thaiger since shared the pictures of this newly installed feature on air-conditioned buses, which prompted many comments asking about the effectiveness of plastic barriers.
Many also said that the plastic curtains can lead to more infection from lots of people touching it.
While the company hasn’t released any further statements, it still shows that they’re trying their best to offer safe services to passengers.
However, taking care of yourself is just as important. Don’t forget to wash your hands and wear a face mask in public to help curb transmissions in public.
