Restaurants In Thailand To Serve Alcohol Until 11PM Starting 1st March 

Bangkok eases Covid-19 restrictions


With the new cluster of COVID-19 infections in December, the Royal Thai Government regulated a strict booze ban upon restaurants, pubs and bars.

However, the Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) shared on 22nd February 2021 that these venues will be allowed to serve alcohol until 11PM starting from 1st March 2021.


Different alcohol regulations for each zone


Each of Thailand’s provinces regulates different safety precautions imposed by provincial offices to curb the virus outbreak according to The Nation Thailand.

The CCSA still urges everyone to follow Covid-19 safety guidelines: wearing masks, social distancing, checking temperatures, checking in at locations with ThaiChana or Morchana apps and frequent hand washing.

Restaurants In Thailand To Serve Alcohol54 provinces in the Green Zone: Kamphaengphet, Chainat, Nakhon Rachasima, Nakhon Sawan, Buriram, Prachuap Khirikhan, Phang – Nga, Phetchabun, Sukhothai, Surat Thani, Uthai Thani, Krabi, Kalasin, Khon Khaen, Chiang Rai, Chiang Mai, Trang, Nakhon Phanom, Chaiyabumni, Nakhon Sri Thammarat, Nan, Bueng Karn, Pattani, Phayao, Pattalung, Pichit, Phitsanulok, Prae, Phuket, Mahasarakham, Mukdahan, Mae Hong Son, Yasothorn, Roi Et, Lampang, Lampoon, Loey, Sri Saket, Sakon Nakhon, Satun, Surin, Nong Khai, Nong Bua Lum Poo, Amnath Charoen, Udon Thani, Uttharadit, Ubon Ratchathani, Ang Thong, Sra Kaew, Chanthaburi, Singburi, Trat, Prachinburi and Lopburi

Green Zones (includes Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Surat Thani, Udon Thani and Phuket)  

  • Restaurants, pubs and bars are allowed to operate normally 
  • Gyms, fitness centres and outdoor fitness facilities can operate normally 
  • Education institutions are permitted to operate normally

Yellow Zones (Ayuddhaya, Chachoengsao, Chon Buri, Chumphon, Kanchanaburi, Nakhon Nayok, Narathiwat, Phetchaburi, Ranong Saraburi, Songkhla, Suphanburi and Yala)

  • Restaurants are permitted to serve food and alcoholic beverages until 12AM
  • Entertainment places, pubs and bars are allowed to serve alcohol until 12AM with live music performances but without dancing
  • Education institutions are allowed to operate normally
  • Gyms, fitness centres and outdoor fitness facilities can operate normally 
  • Stadiums can operate normally but need to limit numbers of spectators 

Orange Zones (Bangkok, Samut Prakan Samut Songkhram, Nonthaburi, Nakhon Pathom, Pathum Thani, Tak, & Ratchaburi)

  • Entertainment venues, pubs and bars are allowed to serve alcohol until 11 PM with live music performances permitted without dancing
  • Malls can open as usual
  • Education institutions are permitted to operate normally
  • Gyms, fitness centres and fitness facilities can open 
  • Stadiums can operate normally but need to limit numbers of spectators  

Red Zones (Samut Sakhon)

  • Restaurants are allowed to operate until 9 PM but without alcohol served
  • Pubs, bars and entertainment venues aren’t permitted to operate
  • Department stores and shopping malls can operate until 9PM
  • Every educational institutions including tutoring schools are only allowed to operate for online classes
  • Fitness centres and outdoor exercise centres will remain closed

Enjoy nightlife safely


The good news is that Thailand seems to be slowly easing back into the new normal; the government seems to be relaxing more and more restrictions. However, it’s important to enjoy nightlife safely, so we can all curb the virus outbreak.
