Inspiring YouTuber

An American dad created a YouTube channel called ‘Dad, how do I?’, that has since gone viral around the globe.
The man behind the channel is Rob Kenney, a father of 2, who just wanted to share practical knowledge on fixing and patching things around the house while cracking dad jokes here and there.
When you land on his YouTube page, you’ll be greeted with the corniest, yet most adorable message in the banner that read: ‘Practical “Dadvice” for everyday tasks.’

Most of Mr Kenney’s videos will teach you how to deal with mundane tasks that people typically learn from their fathers such as unclogging drains, changing car oil, or even shaving your face.

Mr Kenney told local TV station WCIU that he came from a “fractured home” because his own father left him and his family when he was just 12-years old. He spent his teenage and young adult years without a father to guide him.
And because of this, the man was inspired to do good by others.
Netizens rallied to support him
Thanks to a viral Facebook post by a netizen named Chris Hart, the world was introduced to Mr Kenny’s full-of-heart channel.
The post was made on 19th May and it has been shared more than 580,000 times and flooded with over 20,000 comments from people around the world.
Subscribers spiked in 1 week
After Mr Kenney’s channel went viral with the help of many kindred spirits online, his subscribers jumped from thousands to over 1 million people in a matter of 1 week!
Despite the skyrocketing number of subscribers, Mr Kenney said that he was touched and humbled by the responses he received.
“Some of the emotional responses I’ve gotten from people who don’t have fathers, or didn’t have a relationship with their father, or have lost their father, you know, and they’ve said they watched my videos in tears, just being reminded of missing their dad. It’s amazing.”
‘Thank you’
On 20th May, Mr Kenney launched a 4-minute video titled ‘THANK YOU!.’ He was apparently overwhelmed by emotion while expressing how grateful he felt for everybody’s support.
“I’m an internet dad,” he said in the video – oh yeah, you’d earned it pap!
Congratulations Mr Kenney, we’re forward to seeing more awesome videos!
