Cafe Amazon Thailand helps disabled staff
Yimsoo Cafe is a business with a good cause that offers employment opportunities for people with disabilities in Thailand. The owner had recently announced that a branch at Thammasat University would be closing soon and was going to be replaced by another coffee shop.
However, the cafe and staff were pleasantly surprised by Cafe Amazon’s managing team, who swooped in to save Yimsoo Cafe.

In the announcement, Cafe Amazon shared that it decided to propose their business plans to the university after knowing that the university had opened a space for a new business agreement this year.
The company didn’t know about the closedown of Yimsoo Cafe and had recognized the problem when the story of Yimsoo Cafe went viral.
Cafe Amazon also added that the university didn’t inform them about the concession, but the company realised the importance of Yimsoo Cafe. So, the company decided to drop plans of opening a new branch in the area, which would allow the disabled staff to continue working.
Netizens praised the company’s selflessness
Thai netizens were impressed with the decision that the company made and said that they will support Cafe Amazon too.
Translation: Businesses are connected with competition for sure. But saving a branch for people with disabilities will never make the company bankrupt. Thank you for the opportunities for disabled people.
Translation: I always make a cup of coffee by myself, but I will visit Cafe Amazon to buy some after seeing this announcement.
However, other people expressed their opinions that Cafe Amazon was just scared to be involved with conflict and drama on social media.
Nevertheless, what the company did result in positivity and helped workers with disabilities, no matter what their true intentions behind the decision may be.
