Bangkok Chinatown reopens

After having been a ghost town for a while, Bangkok Chinatown (Yaowarat) is making the move to fully reopen for street food hunters and locals to enjoy a meal out.
This is what so many of us have been waiting for, and it comes with preventive measures to make sure we’re enjoying ourselves safely.

On 10th May 2020, The Standard shared photos taken at Yaowarat and reported that food booths and stores will be open from 4-5 PM and will close before 9 PM or so, as the nationwide curfew is still active from 10 PM until 4 AM every day.

To abide with the necessary social-distancing policies, local vendors at our well-loved street food hotspot have set up tables with plastic partitions for their walk-in customers to eat safely and minimise contact with each other.

We’re glad that this all-time most favourite eating spot is gradually coming back to life.

Thailand reported just 6 cases and zero deaths yesterday, but the virus is still not going anywhere anytime soon. Make sure to wear a face mask when entering crowded spaces, and wash your hands often.
