On 2nd January 2022, a Thai woman named Parinatra Soonklang, who was gifted ฿180,850 (~USD5,446) on New Year’s, became talk of the town among netizens on social media.

A series of pictures were posted on Facebook. One of which showed the woman unboxing her savings containers, which were mostly filled with plenty of ฿50 (~USD1.50) bills.

The woman and her family members helped each other to count up her savings, including ฿50 bills and ฿100 (~USD3) bills.

After all of the cash was counted, along with her most recent deposit of ฿450 (~USD14),the woman ran up a total of ฿180,850 (~USD5,446) in annual savings.

Parinatra revealed to the press that she has been saving money for years, and the latest amount of cash had been accumulated from 1st January 2021 to 31st January 2021.

The savvy saver also said that she was inspired by a netizen who had saved his cash in a water container and had seen great results from using this strategy for 3 years in a row.
