UNO MAS: high-rise Spanish food with Mediterranean vibes
With so much great food in Bangkok, it’s hard to pick a spot for special occasions. If you’ve got a great reason to celebrate and don’t mind spending a bit extra for it, UNO MAS could be exactly what you’re looking for.
Here’s a restaurant with authentic Spanish cuisine, a perfect view of the Bangkok skyline, and decor that’ll take you to the Mediterranean coast.

When you’re looking to celebrate a special occasion, or just have some extra money that you don’t want to save for whatever reason, you’d want to try something different.
At UNO MAS, the menu is dominated by Spanish tapas. These smaller plates are perfect for groups to try a bite of something they’ve never had before.

Not only is this sharing great for group dinners, but this kind of food sharing is also something your Thai friends will already be used to.
If one of you ends up not liking a plate as much, you won’t have to feel too guilty about it since it’s a smaller plate.
Apart from the tapas, there are two dishes that you’re definitely going to want to try. First is the Cochinillo suckling pig. This is a Segovian-style half-roasted piglet that comes with green mojo sauce gravy.

Ordering this dish is a bit of a spectacle as well. Because the pig is so tender, the staff will make a show of cutting the pig with a dull plate, then break the plate. Don’t be scared, this is a real Spanish tradition.

The other dish you’ll want to try is their UNO MAS paella which comes with free-range chicken and seafood.
The flavours here are particularly intense, which will suit the Thai palette well. They are so generous with the meat that you might have trouble finding the rice before you start digging in.
Mediterranean decor and a great view of the Bangkok night lights

UNO Mas is located on the 54th floor of Centara Grand in centralwOrld. It’s definitely easy to get to through the BTS, but more importantly, it’s a great vantage point to see all of Bangkok’s night lights.
The decor will whisk you away to a Mediterranean coast, and make you forget that you’re sitting in downtown Bangkok until you see that romantic view. We’d say it’s a mix of Santorini’s white buildings and Chefchaouen’s striking blues.

The restaurant is split into three areas. First is the wine cellar, which unlike most wine cellars, clearly displays all their bottles in an 8-metre glass casing.
Surrounding that is their tapas and raw bar, which is perfect for people who are just looking for some nibbles and a drink.

Their dining deck is up the stairs. It’s a bit cosier, and also includes an open-air dining area that is perfect for the Bangkok night breeze. The night view there is also even more spectacular when it is unfiltered by glass.
Although the restaurant opens for lunch, if you want to enjoy the view, you should time your arrival well. You want to get there late enough to dodge the glaring sun, but early enough to also be able to enjoy the great view of the sunset while you wait for your food.
