Postponed travel plans amid Covid-19
When the recent Travel Together campaign was launched for Thai citizens and residents, things seemed like they were finally looking up. But no thanks to a Covid-19 comeback nobody asked for, travel plans were thrown for a loop once again.
However, those who have registered for the programme and paid for their accommodations need not worry, as the trips can be postponed.

Postpone window of 6 to 12 months
The Thai Hotels Association (THA) has shared that travellers who have already booked and paid for their hotels will be able to postpone their stays for 6 to 12 months, reported Coconuts Bangkok.
Marisa Sukosol, president of THA, also said that hotels taking part in the campaign have been encouraged to facilitate the rescheduling of trips with their guests. Health officials have also asked hotels in regions that have been locked down to provide refunds accordingly.
Travellers that would like to postpone their trips can do so by getting in touch with their respective booking channels, which will get in touch with the hotels.
Programme to be extended
Many have been looking forward to travelling again after almost a year of restrictions
In response to the recent outbreak, tourism minister Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn mentioned that there are plans to extend the programme till late 2021, and that “one million more” hotel nights will be added by the new year.
With the spike in Covid-19 cases this week, Thailand has taken serious measures to curb infections from spreading like wildfire. The situation is reported to be under control, and we hope 2021 only brings more good news.
